Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is largely based on the concept that the human body is a small universe, echoing the macro universe, with a set of complete and sophisticated interconnected systems, and that those systems usually work in balance to maintain the healthy function of the human body. TCM follows the laws and cycles of nature and regards the body as a self regulated system that is always in a state of change.

TCM is closely related to Taoist philosophy and the concept of yin and yang. Disease arises when the balance of yin and yang is disrupted and Qi is blocked. The state of an individual’s condition is determined by their unique “pattern of disharmony” which takes into account the body, mind and spirit. Rather than treat symptoms or specific complaints alone, the patient is treated holistically, with a focus on all systems involved. It provides an excellent means of treating and preventing disease, as well as promoting health and longevity.

Traditional Chinese Medicine can help people with both acute and chronic health problems, as well as those who simply want to increase their overall well being. TCM includes the modalities of acupuncture, Chinese herbology, acupuressure, energetic excercises such and Tai Qi and Qigong and dietary advice.

Ginkgo Acupuncture was developed with the understanding that each patient is an individual, and that his or her health is intimately linked to diet, habits, emotional states, the environment and attitude. Thus, treatments are tailored to each person, with their unique health needs in mind. This holistic approach is the foundation of Traditional Chinese Medicine and my commitment to my patients. It is my goal to work with patients to promote health, well being, and longevity.

It is my mission to provide the highest level of holistic healthcare in acupuncture, and to inspire active participation in my patients so that they may become the masters of their own health and well being.
